DEFINITIVE PROOF THAT EDDIE REDMAYNE IS THE ONLY TRUE HUFFLEPUFF IN HOLLYWOOD

DEFINITIVE PROOF
THAT EDDIE REDMAYNE
IS THE ONLY TRUE
HUFFLEPUFF IN
HOLLYWOOD

ollywood Hufflepuffs are few and
far between. In fact, most of
Hollywood can be sorted into two
houses: Gryffindor and Slytherin.
Slytherins are ambitious and resourceful,
while Gryffindors are, well, mainly show-
offs. (OK, they’re incredibly brave show-
offs.) The Oscars, essentially, were made
for them. They love to be recognized for
their achievements, especially in front of
their peers. Hufflepuffs, however, are
pretty chill about this whole awards
season thing. They’re just happy to be
there.
Now, just because Hollywood Hufflepuffs
are a rare sighting doesn’t mean they
don’t exist. Take delicate wood nymph,
and Oscar winner, Eddie Redmayne for
example. He is a Hufflepuff through and
through. Like his Fantastic Beasts
character Newt Scamander, Redmayne’s
personable nature and dedicated work
ethic make him a shoo-in for the ’Puff
life.
He may not be the frontrunner for Best
Actor at this Sunday’s Academy Awards,
but that’s OK. He’s totally cool with it.
After all, he already won his Oscar last
year, and he’s fully aware that this year
it’s Slytherin Leonardo DiCaprio’s Oscar
to win. He’s just happy to be invited to
the party, really.
“[DiCaprio is] definitely going to win and
should,” Redmayne said, spoken like a
true Hufflepuff. “I feel excited just to be
invited to the party, frankly.” See? He’s
all about that ’Puff life. And if you need
more proof of Redmayne’s Hufflepuff
status, here you go:

HE’S THE HARDEST
WORKER IN THE ROOM
At 34 years old, Redmayne
already has two Oscar
nominations — and one win —
for Best Actor under his belt.
This is especially impressive
once you consider that his
critically acclaimed role as
Stephen Hawking in 2014’s The
Theory of Everything was his first
leading role in feature film. And
he worked for it. Not only did he
study with a choreographer to
get Hawking’s mannerisms and
mobility just right, but he also
spent weeks with MND sufferers
and their families at the Queen
Square Centre for
Neuromuscular Diseases. So
when it was time for filming to
commence, Redmayne came to
set armed with a document that
mapped the entire degeneration
of Hawking’s condition — and
how he should play it. A
Hufflepuff always prepares.

HE GETS ADORABLY
FLUSTERED WHEN
SHOWERED WITH WELL-
DESERVED PRAISE

Upon accepting his Academy
Award for The Theory of
Everything , Redmayne was so
overwhelmed that he couldn’t
stop shaking. Obviously, it was
adorable. The Oscars can be
exhaustingly banal, with winners
giving the same, tired speeches.
But what Redmayne brought to
that evening was the sheer,
unfettered joy of a beautiful
young star. AND HE WAS SO
EXCITED.
